Specifying your Lens System
To configure a Zoom 70XL to meet your imaging requirements, first determine your desired lighting method and refer to the appropriate Optical Performance Chart... Coaxial Illumination OR Substage/Ring-light illumination (below).
Now identify the auxiliary lens (listed along the left side) and TV tube (listed across the top) combination that yields the desired fields-of-view at high and low magnification for your intended camera format (sub-referenced beside the auxiliary lenses on left rows). Working as close to 1x by 1x configurations will provide optimal performance across the entire zoom range and will afford maximum flexibility.
Ensure that the working distance (indicated under each auxiliary lens) meets your setup requirements. If you require more working distance, locate the auxiliary lens that yields your required working distance and reconfigure your lens system with a different TV tube magnification to compensate to the desired field-of-view.
You now have the necessary combination of TV tube magnification and auxiliary lens or infinity-corrected objective magnification to configure your Zoom 70 XL lens system. Follow steps 1-6 to identify and order the functional components and accessories for your lens system. Refer to the System Diagram to see a summary of component options.
