| Volker Brockmeyer

Chief Executive Officer
Volker Brockmeyer was born in 1960 and has been the member of the Executive Board of LINOS AG responsible for finance, controlling and the operating business units since April 2002. He is at the same time director of LINOS Photonics GmbH & Co. KG with the locations in Göttingen, Munich and Regen.
Brockmeyer contributes his international experience and extensive skills to the corporate management of LINOS AG. After graduating in business administration, he joined Kolbenschmidt AG, Neckarsulm / Germany, a supplier to the car industry, in 1985 as a controller. From 1987 to 1990, he was controller for the steering wheel and airbag operations there. In 1991, he took over the position of commercial manager of a joint venture between the company and a Japanese partner in the USA. After this, he was the sole director of a subsidiary of the corporate group in Spain. From 1994 onwards, he held management positions in the Rexel Group and in the industrial division of Bertelsmann AG. Brockmeyer was the director responsible for finance, controlling, buying, human resources and IT at the Kromberg & Schubert Group, a supplier to the car industry with global operations and 6,500 employees, from 1998 onwards. His responsibilities covered 14 operating locations.
In the LINOS Group, Rodenstock Präzisionsoptik was combined with LINOS Photonics to form an operating company in 2002 under Brockmeyer’s management. The reorganisation exercise that Brockmeyer carried out purposefully was the major emphasis in 2002 and 2003. Partly due to the expansion of the supply net activities and to cost-cutting programmes, he succeeded in reducing the break-even point of the company considerably and in increasing liquidity substantially. At the same time as this, leaner Group structures were introduced and flexibility was improved. After two years in which losses were made, LINOS generated a positive operating result (EBIT) again in 2004, which was in addition the most successful year in the company’s history.
LINOS AG was taken over by the Qioptiq Group in October 2006. In this connection, Brockmeyer is taking over the position of Chief Executive Officer of LINOS AG in January 2007. His activities in the coming years will be focussed on continuation of the successful LINOS strategy and implementation of profitable integration in the Qioptiq Group according to plan. His main priority here will be exploitation of the synergy benefits that are possible as a result of the takeover.
