 Defense  Display Technology  Warning Systems

LINOS products in the market segment Display Technology are widely used in the aviation and vehicle industry, e.g. for the production of head-up displays and helmet-mounted displays.

With a head-up display, information is projected into the vision field of the pilot or driver. This may be velocity details, navigation notices or current warnings. They enable them to process relevant data without taking their eyes off traffic or instruments – a clear advantage in terms of safety and comfort.

With helmet-mounted displays, important information or virtual images are projected into the eye of the carrier. Typical applicants are pilots or security forces. Low weights and volume of the display are especially important here.

A special strength of the LINOS displays is the application of partially tool-bound free-form aspheres, which reduce optical parameters to a minimum. Among other things, this concerns parallax errors, the homogeneity as well as the stability of the image during head movement.

The application of free-form combiners with special coating designs also results in significant quality and competitive advantages compared to spherical combiners and holographic solutions.

LINOS has substantial experience in the development and production of optical systems for head-up displays for various vehicles and aircraft. Depending on the purpose, these feature lens or mirror systems or a combination of both.
