With its Pockels cells, electro-optical modulators and Faraday isolators, LINOS sets international standards.
Pockels cells serve as fast electro-optical switches for light with switching rates in the nanosecond range used for example in eye surgery or laser engraving. Electro-optical modulators by LINOS play an important role in laser light modulation. And Faraday isolators by LINOS protect the laser from influences by the respective measuring system.
In addition, LINOS produces an optical-parametric oscillator (OPO), whose powerful narrow-band and continuous laser radiation can be varied from close to medium infrared range. The application fields range from laser-assisted examinations of solid bodies via highly sensitive, selective trace gas analysis up to highly precise molecular spectrology.
